Cross Stitch

Last Saturday I went to Hobby Craft @ Kelapa Gading Mall.  My brother asked me to accompany him coz he wanted to buy knit needle for his friend.  I took a look around the store.  I found something interesting that reminded me of my teenage hobby, that is cross stitch.

I decided to buy 1 package cross stitch.  I chose cross stitch with Jesus picture inside.  I planned to finish it before May 9 coz I want to give it to my grandma as a birthday present.

What inside the package?  It contains pattern, thread, needle and the fabric.  All in one, so I don’t have to buy anything else, except the frame of course. Hehehe..

Currently I haven’t start anything yet.  Hopefully I can start it tonite, if I am not too lazy & too tired.  Hahaha..

Sunday School

Recently in my church, there’s a slight change during the 8.30am Sunday Mass.. after the communion, the priest in charge will give blessing to the children who hasn’t received first communion.. when I saw those kids, I remembered my childhood as a Catholic.. every Sunday morning, I went to Sunday School with my sister.. usually my father took us to the Sunday School.. we were walking coz the place was in the neighborhood..

There were lots of things we did and it was fun.. What I like most are when we prepared something during special occasions, like Christmas, Easter, Bible Month..  Usually we presented a tableau or dance show.. We also wore special costumes..

Below is one of the Sunday School song that crossed my mind this morning:

Hari ini, hari ini harinya Tuhan harinya Tuhan
Mari kita mari kita bersukaria
Bersukaria
Hari ini harinya Tuhan
Mari kita bersukaria
Hari ini, hari ini harinya Tuhan

What a wonderful childhood life I had?  Happy Sunday, everyone..

How To Handle Your Stress..

One of the most singificant problems human beings face as a general population is how to handle stress. As a life & career expert, and an acclaimed advice columnist, I have compiled eleven of the most significant ways that you can reduce stress in your life. You may not always be able to make stress dissappear, but you can manage it with some very simple techniques.

1. Talk! Don't hold all your feelings within! Discuss your stressful feelings with someone you trust who will listen without being judgmental or pressuring you to their own point of view. Even if you can't change the immediate situation, talking about it helps alleviate some of the tension you may be feeling. Supplement the verbalizing with something physical: write it out, exercise or hit a pillow.

2. ACT! Be willing to take risk and make change, no matter how small. Try to change the stressful situation, or at least some part of it. Moving forward in small ways helps you feel empowered and in control. Put one foot in front of the other to move in a positive direction. Soon, the stress will lessen.

3. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! If you learn about how your body reacts to stress, you can also learn how to counter that stress. Learn to listen to your body's signals and find ways to reduce your stress, even if it's just "taking five" to clear your mind. Relaxation exercises (E.g. Yoga, meditation, physical exercise) help, too.

4. BE IN CHARGE! Discover what you need to feel good about yourself and get your needs met. Another way to reduce your stress is to find an interest, hobby or activity where you feel in charge and call the shots. If you really feel out of control, don't stay silent and alone! Seek guidance from someone who is qualified to help you get through the obstacles, and move forward again. If you can't find someone qualified in your neighborhood or you don't feel as though you can talk to someone "in person" try a qualified internet counselor. If you would like to talk to ME (Advice Sister Alison) you can find information at http://www.advicesisters.net/getpersonaladvice3.html

5. DON'T OVERWHELM YOURSELF: If you are stressed and overwhelmed, perhaps you are trying to handle too much. Rid yourself of extra duties that aren't necessary or important. Learn how to delegate and how to say "no" without feeling guilty. Ask for help if you need it.

6. GET AWAY: Sometimes a change, however small, can do wonders for your spirit. Forget it all for a while--escape! Go somewhere new for a few hours, or a few days if you can afford to. If not, it may be helpful just to "get away" to a warm bath for a little while! A good article on how to create an easy spa experience at home is at: http://www.advicesisters.net/WWarchives/wwarcspa3.html

7. PRIORITIZE: You may not be able to avoid all the responsibilities obligations you currently have, but you can learn how to complete them without resentment and consciously choose how you will handle them.

8. EXTEND YOURSELF: Make your own life better by making someone else's life better. Give of yourself. Volunteer! You will feel empowered, positive, important...and you will be! Visit http://www.volunteermatch.com and choose an organization you believe in!

9. MAKE SUCCESS HAPPEN! If you can't change the world, change yourself! Learn how to love yourself as you are, while you work towards your goals. Then, make a commitment to yourself to start improving the things about yourself and your life that (you believe) need it. Instead of immediate, dramatic change, learn to enjoy the journey of lifelong self-improvement. You are always a work in progress. For life & career advice, visit ASK ALISON - Managing Your Life & Career at: http://www.metrotribe.org/askalison.html for love and relationship advice, visit THE ADVICE SISTERS Relationship Tools For Winners Web Site http://www.advicesisters.net/

10. SOCIALIZE: Spend time with family and friends for love and support. Don't be afraid to enjoy yourself! Appreciate friendship and let others know you care about them, too. Love may not conquer all, but it's a great start!

11. LEARN HOW TO BE HAPPY: One thing all of life's winners have in common is a sense of well-being, a positive attitude and realistic goals. Focus on the good things about yourself, and in your life. Nobody's perfect. Learn to enjoy the "little things" that make you happy. Count your blessings. Every day, write down on a slip of paper one thing you are grateful for, even if it's just a sunny day, a friend's phone call, your cat's happy purr. Put this "blessing" in a jar along with a dollar or more. Do this for one month. At the end of the month read all those slips of paper and you will realize that life is better than you think! Use the money to do something really special for yourself, or donate it to charity.

Happy Easter…

jesus-resurrection-7g

It is our faith celebrations in our life as Christians.. Because Jesus saves us from our sins by crucified His life on the wooden cross.. He is our Saviour..

Below again is what Wikipedia says about Easter:

Easter (Greek: Πάσχα, Ethiopic: ፍሲካ, Pascha) is an important annual religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] According to Christian scripture, Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days[2] after his crucifixion. Many Christian denominations celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day or Easter Sunday[3] (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday), two days after Good Friday and three days after Maundy Thursday. The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be in 29 AD as per the ancient carols which were sung by the bards and compiled into the earliest Bibles. Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Eastertide or the Easter Season. Traditionally the Easter Season lasted for the forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day but now officially lasts for the fifty days until Pentecost. The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter. Easter also marks the end of Lent, a season of fasting, prayer, and penance.

Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. Easter falls at some point between late March and late April each year (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity), following the cycle of the Moon. After several centuries of disagreement, all churches accepted the computation of the Alexandrian Church (now the Coptic Church) that Easter is the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon, which is the first moon whose 14th day (the ecclesiastic "full moon") is on or after March 21 (the ecclesiastic "vernal equinox").

Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover not only for much of its symbolism but also for its position in the calendar.

225px-Easter_Eggs_by_Mystaric_on_Flickr Cultural elements, such as the Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts, have become part of the holiday's modern celebrations, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike. There are also some Christian denominations which do not celebrate Easter.

You know what I like the most during the Holy Saturday or Easter Sunday mass? It’s the renew of our baptism.. It was such a beautiful moment..

Happy Easter everyone.. May the resurrection of Jesus brings us the best in life.. Hope we are willing to sacrifice ourselves just like Him..

Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday..

Today all Catholic still have to go to church.. we accompany Jesus in His tomb while waiting for the Easter to come..

Still taken from the Wikipedia, below is what it says:

Holy Saturday (Latin: Sabbatum Sanctum) is the day after Good Friday. It is the day before Easter and the last day of Holy Week, in which Christians prepare for Easter. This day commemorates the day that Jesus Christ's body lay in the tomb.

Today is also the end of our fasting month.. It's different fasting from what our Moslem friends have.. Our fasting is much more easier.. By the rule, only on Ash Wednesday and every Friday from the Ash Wednesday until the Easter day..

God speed!!!

Good Friday

Today is the most sacred for all Christians. Why? Because today reminds us when Jesus crucified His life for our sins.. He's done everything for us, but what we do in return?

Below is what Wikipedia says about Good Friday:

Good Friday, also called Holy Friday, Great Friday or Black Friday, is a religious holiday observed primarily by adherents to Christianity commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Golgotha, an event central to Christian theology. The holiday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and often coincides with the Jewish observance of Passover.

Based on the scriptural details of the Sanhedrin Trial of Jesus, the Crucifixion of Jesus was most probably on a Friday. The exact year of Good Friday has been estimated as AD 33, by two different groups, and originally as AD 34 by Isaac Newton via the differences between the Biblical and Julian calendars and the crescent of the moon.

For me, it was such an amazing thing.. How He gone through all of that.. Starting from the humiliation, holding the cross to the Golgotha and finally being crucified..

But on the other, like what Romo Rudy said last nite, we should always be thanking for all the experiences we're allowed to have.. in bad times and certainly in good times.. for this Good Friday, I think we should be thanking too.. Coz if it wasn't because of Him, we won't be what we are today.. our sins will be with us forever.. But we have to try our best to serve Him by others..

God speed!!!

White Thursday

The picture shows the Last Supper between Jesus Christ 'n His Apostles.. The Catholics go to church every Thursday before Easter to remember this..

What Wikipedia says about this White Thursday or Holy Thursday?

is the Christian feast or holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. It is the fifth day of Holy Week, and is preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday. In 2009, Maundy Thursday will occur on April 9 in most Christian traditions.

On this day four events are commemorated: the washing of the Disciples' Feet by Jesus Christ, the institution of the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper, the agony of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot.

One of the ceremony in the White Thursday mass is the Priest washes 12 men's foot, just like what Jesus did on the Last Supper.. By doing this, Jesus wants to teach us that we have to be able to serve others..
