Jogja's Culinary List

I posted this list for a reminder to myself next I go to Jogja again.. Actually I got this from a friend and I didn't get the chance to visit some of it due to lack of time.. ;)

Here's the list:
1. If you like jamu (Indonesian traditional medicine made of herbs) you can go to Kedai Jamu Ginggang, Kauman.. Operational hours: 09.00-20.30

2. Bakmi Jawa Pak Kadin, Jl. Bintaran Kulon.. Javanese traditional noodle with wedang bajigur (made from ginger, coconut milk, herbs)

3. Resto Jejamuran, Jl. Kaliurang.. I've tried this one and all the menu are recommended.. All of the food are made from mushroom.. Bought the mushroom chips, it was sooo good.. ;)

4. Bakso Ito, behind Malioboro (on the Malioboro Mall's side).. Turn left right before Malioboro Mall, and you will find Ibis Hotel on your right.. Go straight along the road, then turn left.. Easier by walking.. They served pork meatball along with the body parts :).. Try the Tito Kuah..

5. Jadah Mbah Carik, Jl. Kaliurang.. Another local traditional food.. Jadah is made of glutinous rice.. You can eat it with Tempe bacem or tahu bacem.. They also sell wajik..

6. For bakpia, I recommend Pia Pia.. You can search for their outlets.. I bought it in Jl. Dagen, near Malioboro.. My favorite are the ones with chocolate & beef floss fillings..

7. Pork fried rice Bah Bagoes, Pasar Pathuk.. They start frying at 7 pm.. Delicious fried rice but long queue.. So when you're really starving, my suggestion, don't go here.. :D They have other menus too, like fried noodle..

8. Another type of gudeg (made of young jackfruit and coconut milk, cooked for hours in traditional pot), Gudeg Permata.. Start at 9pm..

9. Nasi Goreng Sapi Kota Baru, in front of Kota Baru Catholic Church.. Near the stall there's Pukis seller, my friend said big, delicious n cheap.. :D

10. Tip Top Ice Cream, near 1O1 Hotel.. Old style ice cream shop..

11. Ayam Goreng Tohjoyo, Jl. Solo ( in front of XXI).. Opening hours 11am-10pm.. Beside the fried chicken, they also sell cow's body parts..

12. Soto Kadipiro, Jl. Wates, old house with green paint, on the right side from Jogja.. The soto is served with potato fritter and fried chicken..

13. Sate Babi Ramayana, near Malioboro, before Pasar Beringharjo (there's Ramayana Dept Store).. They open at night..

14. RM Lie Djiong, Gondomanan.. Old style Chinese food Resto.. Their specialty: angsio sayap, kekian goreng, Bong ja bak..
